We were front and center at the Wonder Ballroom on Sunday night to get crazy with Yoni Wolf while the rest of you were home watching Netflix.

The one-woman opening act, Dream Tiger, almost snuck onstage at The Wonder Ballroom. Heads quickly turned as her arresting vocals and haunting beats commanded attention in her first set of the evening (appearing later as backing vocals/instrumentals for Why?). Astronautalis shortly followed with an energetic and positive hip hop set, including a freestyle session of crowd sourced topics like North Korea, redheads and Charles Bukowski.
The Wonder was packed on by the time Yoni Wolf and the band took the stage. Opening strong with favorites like the eerily beautiful “Waterfalls” and “Good Friday”, the band seemed to lose enthusiasm as they played through some of their newer material. They regained momentum in the second half of their set, with dark melodies and Wolf’s wonderfully startling and brutal imagery reminding the crowd exactly why the fell in love with Why? in the first place.
